The HYPNOSIS List
The HYPNOSIS List is an Internet discussion forum co-sponsored by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis for qualified hypnosis professionals. HYPNOSIS is a non-moderated discussion list about hypnosis and hypnotic treatments. It is intended for faculty members and licensed professionals who are involved in the study and use of hypnosis, such as physicians, dentists, chiropractors, psychologists, social workers, nurses, counsellors as well as graduate students in those disciplines.
Appropriate topics for discussion involve any aspect of the principles and practices of hypnosis including:
- Theoretical questions, perspectives, ideas, etc.
- Ethical questions
- Relationships between hypnosis and other approaches
- Research questions and protocols
- Application to clinical cases, supervision questions, etc.

- Technical issues related to the practice and research of hypnosis
- Comments or questions about the hypnosis literature

To illustrate : the past months different clinical issues have been discussed e.g. pain, dissociation, hypnosis and self harm, addiction and relapse, tinnitus, itching, nailbiting, sleep disorders, blepharospasms, irritable bowel syndrome, some research issues, hypnosis and brain studies, hypnosis and legislation and asking for referrals worldwide.
