Benefits of Membership
The European Society of Hypnosis in Psychotherapy and Medicine (ESH) was established in 1976 when a group of European professionals proposed the setting up of a European section of the International Society of Hypnosis (ISH). The first Congress took place in Malmo, Sweden in 1978. Since then, the Society has expanded more than threefold and to this day, eleven more triennial Congresses have been held.
The founding group included: Barolin, Finer, Gheorghiu, Langen (1st President), Leuner, Pajntar, Wallnofer and the true spirit of ESH until this day, Per Olaf Wikstrom! The close connection to ISH has remained; some members serve on the Board of Directors of both Societies.
ESH’s ever increasing Membership now has 32 Constituent (Member) Societies spread throughout Europe with over 14,000 Clinicians and Scientists, dedicated to promoting the use of hypnosis at the highest professional level in their field.
You are warmly invited to surf our website, learn about activities, find links to the Constituent Societies and find information about the Central Office.
