British Society of Medical and Dental Hypnosis -Scotland, UK (BSMDH-S)

I am a General Practitioner and Cosmetic Practitioner with a private hypnosis practice in Glasgow and North Ayrshire.  I graduated from Glasgow University with MBChB, later obtaining an MPH.  I am a NLP Master Practitioner and qualified in Myers Briggs Type indicator.  I started using hypnosis in 1982 and I have been involved in teaching and course development with BSMDH-Scotland.  I am currently the First Vice President of ESH.

Over the past few years I have been Treasurer, Secretary and Academic Secretary of BSMDH-Scotland.  I have also been responsible for running local conferences and the joint conference with BSCAH.  I enjoyed being the mental coach to the Scottish national Netball team in European and World competitions.  I have been involved in many workshops on communication in education and the NHS and have given workshops/lectures on NLP/ communication in Scotland at joint Congress, in Belgium and Donetsk.

My hypnosis work is mainly with PTSD, OCD, Phobias and Stress with particular reference to its’ effects on physical illness.  My approach is to use the ‘tool box’ of skills I have learned, tailored to the individual patient.  I am an executive board member of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM) where I am responsible for revalidation, newsletter and audit.
